1 tab 4 times daily (after meals and at bedtime); max 2 day's therapy with antibacterials. |
| Contraindications |
|
Renal or hepatic insufficiency. Glaucoma. Bladder neck obstruction. Porphyria. |
| Precautions |
|
Yellow discoloration of skin or sclera may indicate poor renal excretion. May stain contact lenses. Liver disease. Anemia. Discolors urine and fabric (red-orange). Elderly. Pregnancy (Cat.C). Nursing mothers. |
| Interactions |
|
Interferes with colorimetric urine tests. |
| Adverse Reactions |
|
Headache, rash, pruritus, GI upset, drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, blurred vision, other anticholinergic effects, methemoglobinemia, hemolytic anemia, renal and hepatic toxicity. |
