Indications
Nasal congestion.
Children
<4yrs: do not use. 4–5yrs: 5mL. 6–11yrs: 10mL. Repeat every 4–6 hours as needed; max 4 doses/24hours.
Contraindications
During or within 14 days of MAOIs.
Precautions
Hypertension. Cardiovascular disease. Diabetes. Thyroid disease. GI or GU obstruction.
Interactions
Hypertensive crisis with MAOIs. β-blockers increase pressor effects of sympathomimetics. Antihypertensives antagonized.
Adverse Reactions
Nervousness, dizziness, insomnia.
