Rhinorrhea and congestion. |
| Children |
|
<6yrs: individualize. 6–11yrs: 1 tab. Repeat every 4 hours as needed; max 4 tabs/24hrs. |
| Adults |
|
2 tabs every 4 hours; max 8 tabs/24hrs. |
| Contraindications |
|
During or within 14 days of MAOIs. Concomitant diphenhydramine products (including topicals). |
| Precautions |
|
Hypertension. Cardiovascular disease. Asthma. Lower respiratory disorders. Glaucoma. GI or GU obstruction. Diabetes. Thyroid disease. Liquid: sodium-restricted diet. |
| Interactions |
|
Hypertensive crisis with MAOIs. β-blockers may increase the pressor effects of sympathomimetics. Alcohol, other CNS depressants potentiated. Guanethidine, other antihypertensives antagonized. |
| Adverse Reactions |
|
Drowsiness, anticholinergic effects, dizziness, nervousness, insomnia, excitability in children. |
