|
Bronchospasm associated with chronic bronchitis and emphysema. |

| Adults |
|
500micrograms orally by nebulization 3–4 times daily; separate doses by 6–8 hours. |
| Contraindications |
|
Allergy to atropine or its derivatives. Atrovent Inhaler, but not Atrovent HFA inhaler: allergy to soya lecithin, peanut, or related foods. |
| Precautions |
|
Not for primary treatment of acute attack. Avoid eyes. Narrow-angle glaucoma. GI or GU obstruction. Pregnancy (Cat.B). Nursing mothers. |
| Interactions |
|
Caution with other anticholinergics. |
| Adverse Reactions |
|
Exacerbation of symptoms, cough, nervousness, dizziness, GI upset, headache, palpitations, local irritation, anticholinergic effects, rash. |
