|
Moderate to severe pain. Pre-op and post-op pain. Supplement to anesthesia. Prepartum pain. |

| Adults |
|
10mg/70kg IM, SC or IV every 3–6 hours as needed. |
| Precautions |
|
Head injury. Increased intracranial pressure. Biliary tract surgery. Impaired respiratory, cardiac, renal, or hepatic function. MI. Hypertension. Drug abusers. Asthma (sulfites). Labor and delivery (esp. premature). Pregnancy. |
| Interactions |
|
Potentiation with alcohol, CNS depressants. May precipitate withdrawal in narcotic addicts. |
| Adverse Reactions |
|
Sedation, diaphoresis, nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, headache, depression, dependence, possible withdrawal after prolonged use. |
