Indications
Mild to moderate pain.
Children
Not recommended.
Adults
100mg every 4 hours as needed; max 600mg daily.
Contraindications
Suicidal or addiction-prone patients.
Precautions
Impaired renal or hepatic function. Elderly. Debilitated. Pregnancy. Nursing mothers.
Interactions
Potentiation with alcohol, CNS depressants. May increase levels of antidepressants, anticonvulsants, coumarin anticoagulants, others. Coma, severe neurological effects seen with carbamazepine.
Adverse Reactions
Dizziness, sedation, nausea, vomiting, constipation, rash; respiratory depression (overdosage).
