Generic Name
Isometheptene mucate 65mg, caffeine 100mg, acetaminophen 325mg; caps.
Indications
Tension and vascular headache (may be effective for migraine headache).
Children
Not recommended.
Adults
Tension: 1–2 caps every 4 hrs; max 8 caps/day. Migraine: 2 caps at once, then 1 cap every hour until relieved; max 5 caps/12 hours.
Contraindications
Glaucoma. Severe renal, hepatic, hypertensive, or cardiac disease. Concomitant MAOIs.
Precautions
Hypertension. Peripheral vascular disease. Recent MI.
Interactions
Hypertensive crisis with MAOIs.
Adverse Reactions
Dizziness, rash.
