Sympathomimetic + sedative + analgesic.
Generic Name
Isometheptene mucate 65mg, dichloralphenazone 100mg, acetaminophen 325mg; caps.
Indications
Tension and vascular headache. Migraine.
Children
Not recommended.
Adults
Tension: 1–2 caps every 4 hours; max 8 caps/day. Migraine: 2 caps once then 1 cap every 1 hour; max 5 caps/12 hours.
Contraindications
Glaucoma. Severe renal, cardiac, hypertensive, or hepatic disease. Acute intermittent porphyria. Concurrent MAOIs.
Precautions
Peripheral vascular disease. Recent MI. Gastritis. Hypertension. Nursing mothers.
Interactions
Hypertensive crisis with MAOIs. May potentiate oral anticoagulants.
Adverse Reactions
Dizziness, drowsiness, sympathomimetic effects, rash.
