Generic Name
Acetaminophen 250mg, aspirin 250mg, caffeine 65mg; tabs.
Indications
Migraine.
Children
Not recommended.
Adults
Take with full glass of water. ≥18yrs: 2 tabs every 6 hours as needed; max 8 tabs/day for 2 days.
Contraindications
NSAID allergy. Varicella, vaccinia in children and teenagers. 3rd trimester of pregnancy.
Precautions
Persistent or unresponsive headache. History of asthma or peptic ulcer. Impaired hepatic or renal function. Bleeding disorders. Erosive gastritis. Diabetes. Gout. Pregnancy. Nursing mothers: not recommended.
Interactions
PABA may increase serum aspirin levels. May potentiate anticoagulants, hypoglycemics, methotrexate. Urinary alkalinizers, antacids, corticosteroids may increase aspirin excretion. May antagonize uricosurics, spironolactone. Increased risk of liver toxicity and/or GI bleed with alcohol.
Adverse Reactions
Gastric upset, prolonged bleeding time, urticaria, anaphylaxis; overdosage: salicylism, hepatoxicity.
