Porphyria. |
| Precautions |
|
Drug abusers. Severe hepatic or renal impairment. Depression. Suicidal tendencies. Acute abdomen. Elderly. Debilitated. Pregnancy (Cat.C). Nursing mothers: not recommended. |
| Interactions |
|
Potentiation with alcohol, MAOIs, general anesthetics, other CNS depressants. May antagonize oral anticoagulants, antibiotics, steroids, tricyclics. May cause false (+) urine test for 5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid. |
| Adverse Reactions |
|
Drowsiness, lightheadedness, shortness of breath, GI upset, abdominal pain, intoxicated feeling; overdosage: respiratory depression, hepatotoxicity. |
