Generic Name

Indications
Prevention of dental caries where water fluoridation is <0.6ppm.
Children
If fluoride <0.3ppm: 6months–3yrs: 0.25mg daily; 3–6yrs: 0.5mg daily; 6–16yrs: 1mg daily. If fluoride 0.3–0.6ppm: 6months–3yrs: 0.125mg daily; 3–6yrs: 0.25mg daily; 6–16yrs: 0.5mg daily.
Contraindications
Fluoride content of water >0.6ppm.
Precautions
Dental fluorosis in chronic overdosage.
Interactions
Insoluble calcium fluoride with dairy products.
Adverse Reactions
Rash.
