| Indications |
|
Prophylaxis of acute organ rejection in patients receiving renal transplants as part of an immunosuppressive regimen that includes cyclosporine and corticosteroids. |
| Adults and Children |
|
<11months: not recommended. ≥11months: Give by IV infusion over 15 minutes. Administer 1st dose no more than 24 hours before transplantation. 1mg/kg every 14 days for 5 doses. |
| Precautions |
|
Increased risk of lymphoproliferative disorders, severe infections (monitor). Permanently discontinue therapy if severe hypersensitivity reaction occurs. Readministration has not been evaluated. Elderly. Pregnancy (Cat.C); use adequate contraception before, during, and 4 months after therapy. Nursing mothers: not recommended. |

|
Increased mortality with concomitant anti-lymphocyte antibody therapy. May reduce response to vaccines. |

|
GI upset, edema, CNS effects, pain, fever, inj site reactions, infections (may be fatal), hypersensitivity reactions, others. |
