| Indications |
|
Vaccination against H. influenzae type b and hepatitis B in infants 6 weeks to 15 months of age born of HBsAg-negative mothers. |
| Children |
|
<6 weeks: Not recommended. 6 weeks to 15 months: Give IM in anterolateral thigh. Previously unvaccinated, or one previous dose of hepatitis B vaccine: one 0.5mL dose at 2, 4, and 12–15 months of age. Others: individualize (see literature). |
| Precautions |
|
Immunodeficiency/ suppression or malignancy: may get suboptimal response. Have epinephrine (1:1000) inj available. Delay administration in acute febrile illness. Pregnancy (Cat.C): not recommended. |

Local reactions, irritability, somnolence, fever, crying, GI upset, anorexia. |
