| Indications |
|
To reduce the risk of stroke in patients who have had transient ischemia of the brain or completed ischemic stroke due to thrombosis. |

| Adults |
|
Swallow whole. 1 cap twice daily. |
| Contraindications |
|
NSAID allergy. Viral infection in children or teenagers. 3rd trimester pregnancy. |
| Precautions |
|
History of asthma or peptic ulcer. Bleeding disorders. Severe coronary artery disease. Hypotension. Hepatic or renal insufficiency. Pregnancy (Cat.B for dipyridamole and Cat.D for aspirin). Nursing mothers. |
| Interactions |
|
Increased risk of GI bleed with alcohol, NSAIDs. Potentiates anticoagulants, adenosine, acetazolamide, methotrexate, oral hypoglycemics. May antagonize ACE inhibitors, β-blockers, diuretics, cholinesterase inhibitors, uricosurics. May increase risk of renal dysfunction with NSAIDs. Monitor phenytoin, valproic acid, other anticonvulsants. |
| Adverse Reactions |
|
Headache, GI upset/bleed, somnolence, syncope, hemorrhage, blood disorders; rare: dizziness, flushing, hypotension, tinnitus, hyperglycemia, taste loss, increased liver enzymes. |
