Acid indigestion, heartburn, upset or sour stomach. |

1–3g chewed every hr as needed; usual max 8g/day for 2 wks. |

Hypoparathyroidism. |
| Interactions |
|
Calcium blocks absorption of tetracyclines. May affect absorption of other drugs. Absorption blocked by corticosteroids, foods such as rhubarb, spinach, bran. |

Hypercalcemia, hypercalciuria. |
