Indications
Ulcerative colitis.
Children
Not recommended.
Adults
Do not crush or chew. Treatment: 800mg 3 times daily for 6 weeks. Maintenance: 1.6 g/day in divided doses.
Precautions
Pyloric stenosis. History of renal disease; monitor renal function before and during therapy. Reevaluate periodically. Pregnancy (Cat.B). Nursing mothers.
Adverse Reactions
Exacerbation of symptoms (discontinue if occurs), renal toxicity, GI upset or pain, constipation, arthralgia, myalgia, GI bleed, rhinitis, pharyngitis, vasodilation, ear or visual disturbances, infection, others.
