Indications
Irritable bowel syndrome with constipation (IBS–C) in women.
Children
<18yrs: not recommended.
Adults
Take with food and water. ≥18yrs: 8micrograms twice daily.
Contraindications
History of mechanical GI obstruction.
Precautions
Reevaluate periodically. Severe diarrhea: not recommended. Renal or hepatic impairment. Pregnancy (Cat.C): exclude pregnancy before starting; maintain effective contraception during therapy. Nursing mothers: not recommended.
Adverse Reactions
Nausea, headache, diarrhea (suspend therapy if occurs), abdominal pain, abdominal distension, flatulence, dyspnea, vomiting, syncope, asthenia, others.
