|
Ocular inflammation associated with infection. |

| Adults |
|
Initially 1–2 drops hourly or small amount of ointment 3–4 times daily. Ointment may be used adjunctively with drops at bedtime. Then prolong dosing interval as condition improves; max 20mL or 8g per therapeutic course. |
| Contraindications |
|
Fungal, viral (except herpes zoster), or mycobacterial infections. |
| Precautions |
|
Corneal or scleral thinning. Glaucoma. Monitor for secondary infections and intraocular pressure in prolonged use. Avoid abrupt cessation. Pregnancy. (Cat.C). Nursing mothers. |
| Adverse Reactions |
|
Increased intraocular pressure, cataracts, corneal perforation, optic nerve damage. May mask signs of infection. Allergic dermatitis. |
