Generic Name
Clindamycin (as phosphate) 1%, benzoyl peroxide 5%; gel.
Indications
Acne vulgaris.
Children
Not recommended.
Adults
Apply once daily.
Contraindications
History of regional enteritis, ulcerative or antibiotic-associated colitis.
Precautions
Avoid eyes, mucous membranes. Discontinue if significant diarrhea occurs. Pregnancy (Cat.C). Nursing mothers: not recommended.
Interactions
Additive irritation with other topical agents. Avoid erythromycin.
Adverse Reactions
Erythema, peeling, burning, dryness, may bleach fabrics or hair; rare: superinfection, colitis.
