≥18yrs: 4g daily; may take as 4g once daily or as 2g twice daily. |
| Precautions |
|
Obtain baseline triglycerides (TG); monitor TG, LDL-C, and ALT during therapy; discontinue if response is inadequate after 2 months. Exclude and/or treat secondary causes of hypertriglyceridema (eg, hypothyroidism, diabetes, alcoholism, obesity, medications). Fish allergy. Pregnancy (Cat.C). Nursing mothers. |

May potentiate anticoagulants; monitor. |

Infection, flu syndrome, eructation, dyspepsia, rash, taste perversion, back pain, angina pectoris, increased ALT, LDL-C (monitor). |
