| Indications |
|
Chronic angina that is inadequately controlled with other antianginals; use with amlodipine, β-blockers, or nitrates. |

|
Swallow whole. Initially 500mg twice daily, may increase to max 1g twice daily. |
| Contraindications |
|
QT prolongation. Ventricular tachycardia. Hepatic impairment. Drugs that cause QT prolongation (eg, Class 1A, Class III antiarrhythmics, thioridazine, ziprasidone). Potent or moderately potent CYP3A inhibitors (eg, ketoconazole, other azole antifungals, diltiazem, verapamil, macrolides, protease inhibitors, grapefruit juice). |
| Precautions |
|
Not for acute angina episodes. Severe renal impairment: not recommended. Monitor blood pressure, QT interval. Elderly. Pregnancy (Cat.C). Nursing mothers: not recommended. |
| Interactions |
|
See Contraindications. May potentiate drugs metabolized by P-glycoprotein (eg, digoxin), CYP2D6 (eg, tricyclic antidepressants), CYP3A (eg, simvastatin). May be potentiated by inhibitors of CYP2D6 (eg, paroxetine), P-glycoprotein (eg, ritonavir, cyclosporine). |
