Indications
Prophylaxis and treatment (in patients that do not respond to sublingual nitroglycerin) of angina.
Children
Not recommended.
Adults
2.5–5mg sublingually 15 minutes before activity; allow a daily dose-free interval of at least 14 hours.
Contraindications
Concomitant sildenafil.
Precautions
Recent MI. Hypotension. Volume depletion. Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Monitor standing blood pressure when increasing doses. Tolerance may develop. Avoid abrupt cessation. Elderly. Pregnancy (Cat.C). Nursing mothers.
Interactions
See Contraindications. Severe hypotension with sildenafil. Hypotension potentiated with alcohol, other vasodilators, calcium channel blockers.
Adverse Reactions
Headache, flushing, dizziness, weakness, orthostatic hypotension, paradoxical bradycardia, rash.
