Indications
Allergic and vasomotor rhinitis, conjunctivitis, pruritus.
Children
<2yrs: not recommended. 2–5yrs: 1mg. 6–11yrs: 2mg. Both: every 4–6 hrs.
Adults
4mg every 4–6 hrs.
Contraindications
Asthma and lower respiratory disorders. Neonates. Premature infants. 3rd trimester of pregnancy. Nursing mothers.
Precautions
Glaucoma. GI or urinary obstruction. Hyperthyroidism. Hypertension. Cardiovascular disease. Children. Elderly. Pregnancy.
Interactions
Potentiates CNS depression with alcohol, other CNS depressants.
Adverse Reactions
Anticholinergic effects, drowsiness, dizziness, gastritis, paradoxical excitement, blood dyscrasias.
